What are you reading?

I was always an avid reader. However, since I began writing, I have struggled with what genre I am going to be known for. The Cavern is a dystopian novel with a romance embedded within. My second book is more of a supernatural "thriller" with a romance embedded within in. I have plenty of ideas for other books, but they all have a common thread - romance. So I figured I would do some homework...

I have started reading books that are outside my normal dystopian and rom com genres. I have found a new love. Psychological Thrillers! I am hooked.

In my journey of reading different genres, I have discovered that avid readers read books that correspond with the season. Some of the groups I have joined on Facebook (yes I am showing my age here) have said that they have switched up to their holiday books, including holiday psycological thrillers! I didn't even know that existed!! I am so excited to start my new venture in Christmas thrillers as well as romance novels.

I am hoping for some inspiration as I continue my writing journey, but right now I am just in it for the fun of it!

So on my TBR I have The Gift by Freida McFadden and The Christmas Ghost by Katherine Black. Right now I am getting my fill of Christmas Romance in the 12 Tropes of Christmas by various authors including one of my favorites, Heidi Catherine.

I never knew that becoming a writer would expand my love of reading to the extent that it has. So let me know what you are reading! Comment some recommendations too, I would love that!
